Tom's Atlatls - Type 1

Material:
Wood, 21" x 5/8" x 1/2"
Dowel, 3/8" x 2 1/2"
Leather Strap, 1/2" x 11"
Artificial sinew
Construction:
- 6" from the handle end, taper the bottom to 1/8" thick on the peg end.
- Round off both ends.
- Round off the edges and sand.
- Tie on the handle as shown. The loop goes on the top of the atlatl.

- Round/taper one end of the dowel. Cut the other end at a 60 degree angle.
- Glue the peg on and wrap with artificial sinew.
